Dearest Sakura, Because it is letter writing month, I thought this would be a good time to write to you and express my gratitude for your friendship.
You are very precious to me, Sakura! When I first met you, I couldn’t help but think of my own dear friend, Princess Yona. To this day, there are still things about you that remind me of her, but I think that if fate were to reunite me with Yona, she would remind me of you, as well. Every day, I’m inspired by your kindness and ability to see the good in people. I believe you don’t have a single hint of malice in you, and I understand why you have so many people who would give their lives in order to protect you. So many people who love you and wish it were possible that you would never have to suffer.
I’m also in those ranks. It isn’t because I think you’re weak-- quite the contrary! You have strength and courage within you, perhaps more than you realize, and that inspires me, too. You are selfless and support your friends, and you have the patience of a saint. I wonder if I could ever be so noble?
Forgive me if this is starting to embarrass you (but I don’t feel too bad, because you’re cute when you get embarrassed!), but part of your charm is… I don’t think you realize how beautiful you are, Sakura, both inside and out. You deserve love and happiness, and I believe that day will come soon. Don’t ever feel like you are unworthy of someone, because it’s most likely the reverse that’s true!
Thank you for all of the conversations we’ve had, all of the things that you’ve confided in me. They mean more to me than you’ll ever know. Thank you for the fun times, and for what I hope are fun times still to come! Thank you for letting me be a part of your life here. I’ve come to love you dearly, and I wonder… if this is what it’s like to have a little sister of my own.
I know you must miss home… but I would be sad if you had to leave, too. So while we’re here, why not try to make the best of it?
Sincerely yours,
